I have lived in Amsterdam since late 1990 until april 2000, when I moved to Berlin. I came from Nijmegen, where I had lived and worked as a visual artist and initiator of artists run spaces and several exhibitions and projects. I did work in a publishing company first, but then got more and more involved in art and media projects in Amsterdam. In 1993, I attended Hacking at the End of the Universe, where the first ideas for The Digital City were addressed. Soon after, I started to work for the Netherlands Design Institute and helped building up The Digital City. In September 1994, I started my own company Desk.nl, which I left in 1997. Since 1996, I started to commute between Amsterdam and Karlsruhe, where I have realised several projects for the ZKM.
