Opensourcelab is the incarnation of Linux and Multimedia competences in the Virtual Reality and Multimedia Park (www.vrmmp.it) of Turin, Italy. This Lab is currently hosting two projects: one is Medialinux that after a period of Knoppix dependence would be turned into a standalone distribution of the software used in our school (a bit, with maximum respect and appreciation, like Planet CCRMA at Stanford, CA). We don't have the will to make THE multimedia distribution, but absolutely one of the ones that are on the web. We think that comparison and interaction are one of the most exciting and useful aspects of the Linux community and we are already in contact with some other projects in this field (like CCRMA and Dyne:bolic, www.dyne.org). We really appreciate this kind of "summarization" on Media Distribution. I think we should put a mailing list on this out there. Wait soon to see this space growing ;-)
