presents:
- Julian Oliver (aka. delire) & Steven Pickles (aka. pix),
- Yves Degoyon (aka. d.R.e.G.S. ) & Lluis Gomez Y Bigorda ( from r3/skeezo )
in program:
- presentation/demo: MaMa 18h Friday 20040409
- No Playback: 3D Engines as a Performance Interface - delire and pix will give a 40min lecture outlining how open source computer game software can be used as a dynamic audio performance tool. They will survey both past and present work including a demonstration of their new linux-based 3D interface 'b0!d'. b0!d allows the player to dynamically control and generate audio signal using a game-pad to manipulate a 3D scene
- Al-Jwarizmi / Gollum vs CNN using the latest extensions for Pure Data, presentation of some tools of collaborative, horizontal media production, trying to escape from the mediatic, central control, building a network of independent hacktivist, redefining the hackitecture of information circuits.

- "The Aesthetics Of Our Anger" by d.R.e.G.S. / r1, with only one of r3 doing some very relevant work on image manipulations, illustrating how the way medias can forge some political opinions by images collisions techniques, under a thunder of noise made by one guy on a patched laptop.

about people:
- Julian Oliver (.nz) is a theorist, composer and open source software developer working in the fields of A/V performance, game-development and computer music. In 1998 he established the media-lab selectparks.net, which has produced many game-based artworks and museum commissions. Julian performs his software internationally under the moniker 'delire', most recently in a world tour in Europe, the USA and Japan. Julian is currently residing at mi2lab with pix where they are developing a 3D composition interface for performance at the SONAR festival in June.
- Steven Pickles (.au/.de) is software developer and sound designer with exstensive work in number of computer technologies (pd, game engines, java, processing...)....fill with content....... performing as a member of media arts+technology connective Farmers Manual.
- Lluis Gomez Y Bigorda (.es) is a member of the skeezo/r3 collective : Skeezo a.k.a r3 are a collective of audiovisual creators from Terrassa, near Barcelona. Coming from a background of political activism they extend this to their work : building their own machines, using only free software and showing material that explores the alienation and insurrectional possibilities of modern life. They bring a breath of fresh air to a scene that is dominated by techniques and point the way to technology being a truly liberating force. full article : www.sonar.es/portal/eng/online.cfm?id_sonaronline=18
- Yves Degoyon (.fr) is a musician and author of open-source software for audio and video processing within the frame of Pure Data. Once motivated by the need to create and use his own tools for sonic performances that would be different from the standardized sound of commercial software, he then got into development of video extensions, with Tom Schouten ( belgium )that have been used in several installations. He's also involved in some hacktivist project : hackitectura (www.hackitectura.net), indymedia barcelona and estrecho.
program is organised in collaboration with:
