Multimedia Institute in Zagreb-CROATIA, is non-profit community based NGO, focused on new media production and promotion of critical theory. During short 3 year activity we have supported a number of individuals, projects and organisations working in the field of culture, activism and independent media. Our net.culture center "mama" is the uniqe meeting space for artists, DJs, theorists, and techies, who jointly contribute to the programs of numerous public screenings, workshops, lectures, presentations and discussions. Our anual activities include computer-art exhibition, electronic music concerts and summer technology camp on island of Vis. Members of our core team are all prominent in their fields of activity (music, art, design, theory, software development and cultural managment).
This year we would try for the first time to build up on existing momentum of public interest in our work by organising first "New Medi Culture Week" event which will incorporate: generative art exhibition, festival of new electronic music, conference on the subject of cyber utopias and meetin of regional producers and cultural workers working in new media field.
