VBI is a live teletext broadcasting station and public lounge for works that deploy low-tech, DIY, or critical approaches to production or distribution. Working in the technical margins of the broadcast spectrum, and giving expression to voices marginalized by media conglomeration, VBI conducts an aesthetic archaeology of TV and speculates on possible futures for independent media. The teletext station will broadcast specially created music videos and host production workshops. The lounge will exhibit several installations, host artist talks, and provide an inviting, informal discussion space.
